Appco brings in hostage negotiator to highlight the power of listening

Business owners involved in face-to-face marketing will hear an expert hostage negotiator explain the essentials for good communication and the importance of listening at a two-day workshop hosted by Appco Group UK this weekend.

As well as being able to hone these two skills – which are essential in professional face-to-face marketing and key elements of Appco’s Human CommercialTM – participants will take part in sessions focussed on business management and understanding self-employment.

"Empowering a flexible workforce", “Recruitment best practice” and "Providing up-skilling opportunities" are among the topics that will be discussed in interactive workshops over the two days.

Just as importantly, the 300 established and budding entrepreneurs who have elected to take part in the event will have the chance to network and learn from each other.

A number of successful independent business owners will share their own experiences of setting up and managing their companies and engaging a self-employed workforce.

Appco Events Producer and Manager Samantha Douglas says the weekend will give people an opportunity to see what is working for other people in the industry, and swap ideas in a highly interactive setting.

“Appco hosts these events for the entrepreneurs in our network because they’re a really great way to get people together to learn from and be inspired by others in order to progress their own businesses.”

The event is taking place in Birmingham, 22-23 April.
