Appco help fight against female mutilation
February 25, 2013
Ablation or female mutilation is a general practice in some countries and seriously damages the health of three million children in over twenty-eight countries every year (most of them in Africa). This is a social and cultural practice rooted in many cultures and is still valid because, not only is it not questioned, but there are also a huge number of myths and misconceptions around it.
Therefore, many of the Charities that Appco Group Spain collaborate with have used the commemoration of the world day against female mutilation, which was on February 6th, to jointly develop several campaigns to raise awareness against this horrible practice and also to collect funds in order to eradicate such actions across the world.
