Appco UK helps government boost energy efficient homes

Appco Group Home Efficiency is supporting the UK government’s action to increase the number of homes eligible for energy efficiency measures throughout 2014.

Since April, energy companies have funded an estimated 23,400 insulation types – such as in lofts and cavity walls – in rural homes through the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme.

Appco has helped by signing up 2,992 households for Carbon Saving Community Obligation (CSCO) measures in rural areas since April, contributing to the government’s reported figures of a 30% installation increase.

“We’ve seen a major increase in the number of rural homes that have been made warmer and cheaper to heat – 23,400 measures installed, up from 834 in April,” said Amber Rudd, Parliamentary under Secretary of State for Energy.

“These new estimates from energy companies are a sure sign that action from government to help people living in rural areas is working.”
