Appco UK Managing Director volunteers for student mentoring programme
Mike and Appco UK have been delighted to provide work experience to college student Matthew Peters. The scheme is designed to help those in sixth form think about their career interests and make more informed decisions about their options.
“I have been personally involved with many charitable and community fundraising events over the years and was looking for a way to give something back that was different,” Managing Director Mike Blane said.
“I got in touch with ORT UK and decided to register as a mentor so that students can learn about what we do here. It’s been great having Matthew around and he has given some really positive feedback on the different areas he has spent time within so far.”
Part of a unique mentoring programme, the student placement spans over 6 months and has, so far, seen Matthew spend time with a number of Appco UK staff members in design, procurement, events and operations.
During his time at Appco UK, which finishes this summer, Matthew says he is looking forward to spending more time with more people in the office and that the experience has already given him more clarity in terms of the direction he would like his career to take.
The experience has enabled Matthew to gain real-life experience within a busy, multi-national company that has given him exposure to a variety of roles and different areas of the business.
Appco UK is proud to assist students on their journeys to realise their true potential and achieve their ultimate career ambitions.
