Donor thanks fundraiser for info that saved son’s life
Appco Group is extremely grateful to the professional fundraisers and field representatives who represent our clients. Every day, they speak to thousands of people and this is just one of the countless positive stories that result from their interactions – but that often go unheard.
A very grateful donor has taken the time to contact one of Appco UK’s charity partners to share his recent experience…
Mr Churchill generously signed up to support this particular charity after having a conversation over the festive break with professional fundraiser Daniel Knox Hooke.
After their conversation, Daniel left Mr Churchill with a first-aid information leaflet. The next day, Mr Churchill’s youngest son was knocked unconscious and stopped breathing. Thankfully, having read through the leaflet left by Daniel, he was able to resuscitate his son.
In Mr Churchill’s own words, he "didn't feel he would have been able to do that had he not read the information before – the leaflet was a lifesaver” and he is “very, very grateful".
It’s not always an easy role, but stories like this are a reminder that fundraisers like Daniel not only make a difference for the charities they represent but also for the many people they speak with every day.
